Title: Zoom on removable partial denture with polyetheretherketone framework

Abstract:

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is a high-performance thermoplastic polymer widely used in medicine due to its outstanding mechanical properties, biocompatibility and chemical stability. In dentistry, PEEK has transformed the design and manufacture of dental prosthesis, implant abutments and partial denture frames. Unlike traditional materials such as metals and ceramics, PEEK offers a unique combination of lightness, flexibility and durability. Its ability to resist wear and deformation ensures a long life of the prosthesis, while its close-tinted natural teeth and gums allows superior aesthetic results. In addition, its non-allergenic properties minimize the risk of adverse reactions in patients, thus improving comfort and satisfaction. Through a clinical case detailing the use of PEEK in the manufacture of dental prostheses and a detailed description of each step, from the taking of the impression to the digital design and final manufacturing, this work highlights the clinical and aesthetic benefits of PEEK. The objective is to demonstrate how this innovative material can improve therapeutic outcomes and provide more comfortable and durable prosthetic solutions for patients. This work examines the use of PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) in the fabrication of removable partial dentures (RPD), focusing on its advantages over conventional materials. Through a computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) approach, this work explores the mechanical, biological, and aesthetic properties of PEEK. The results show that PEEK frameworks offer superior biocompatibility, better distribution of masticatory forces, and reduced periodontal risks, while improving the comfort and aesthetics of dentures. However, despite its promise, the high cost of PEEK and the need for long-term clinical studies still limit its widespread use. In conclusion, PEEK represents a significant advancement in removable denture, with high potential for the future of prosthetic care.
